Godzilla (1998) was better than I thought it would be. You actually can develop empathy for the creature long before the end of the movie. Sure, the acting is a joke. Even one of my favorite actors, Jean Reno, is a comic book hero here but face facts people, this movie is not intended to be Shakespeare. One in awhile I like a movie that I can have some friends over, order a pizza and some beer and kick back. This flick is perfect for that. No worry about missing dialog, no hidden meaning just a good way to spend a little over two hours.
